On the show this week we meet Norma O’Hara Murphy. Norma each year hosts the Bony Mountain Folk Festival at her property at Bony Mountain not far from Warwick in Queensland. The festival has been running for 15 years. It will run again in 2025 and volunteers are a great part in running the festival.
Norma started her singing career back in 1982 and was a finalist in the Country Music Awards of Australia. Norma attributes her voice to country living, she is one to not divulge her age, but would like to record one more album before stopping.
Norma chats to Phill about her life and what makes her happy and her love for the brumbies.
Every night at the main stage the fire pits are burning to keep you warm, great big area to park up your van or motorhome, there is drinking water available but you cant use to fill your tanks, there are a number of stalls to browse and also food vans to grab something to eat and on the main nights camp oven cooking to purchase.
A great little festival to visit.

Next on the show we move on to Texas Country Music Festival and Phill chats with Cass, from Custom Felt Hats who is selling her wonderful hats at the festival.
Cass hand draws the designs onto hats and burns the design to the hat. Drawing has always been a hobby but when Covid hit out came the pencils and put one of her designs on to the hat with a soldering iron.
She now sells her hats on line and also markets, you can send through a design or photo and the image will be burnt onto your hat. A favourite of people is their pet.

Next on the show we meet Dorothy and Joanne who have a stall with Brights Natural Bees Wax. This product is amazing. They have been manufacturing this product for 35 years. You can use on dry skin, lips cracked heels, and you can also use there leather conditioner on your leather boots to bring them back and clean, which also repels water and also use on your chopping boards.
If you dont see this product at markets you can purchase on line.
