On the show this week we start the show in Lightning Ridge where Phill chats with Mel and Susie, who are Bush Poets.

Next on the show we catch up with Mel and Susie. These ladies are amazing and they are Australian Bush Poets and can they tell a tale and a great rendition of a poem. We had the pleasure of meeting Mel & Susie many years ago at The Opal Caravan Park where Phill actually got up on stage and recited The Man From Snowy River with them both. They appear every weekday at the park for the Happy Hour and recite poetry, tell jokes and also encourage the kids to get involved as well as the older audience. We had the pleasure of doing a tour of their home in Lightning Ridge and enjoying a lovely morning tea complete with scones and earing them recite poetry and tell tales, afterwards Phill sat down with the ladies for an interview.

Next on the show Phill is chatting with Mark Smith Managing Director of Demsgroup the home of Ufixit. at Mundi Mundi bash. This is a product that you can repair your own windscreen. These are available in auto stores around Australia. The resin in the pack is a do it yourself kit to fix small chips in your windscreen. There is enough to do 4-5 repairs and lasts 5 years once opened.

Most repairs generally take 20-30 minutes to repair, you need to work in the shade and in the direct sunlight it hardens.

The kit contains resin, curing strips, razor blades and instructions and applicator. The instructions have plenty of pictures to help you through. The strips need to be used and any excess liquid can be wiped away. The razor blade is for cleaning up the excess resin.

Its a great kit to carry in the glovebox and do on the road. Once repaired it will not need repairing again.

Phill once again chats with Jeff DeAth from Check Weight, the topic of discussion today is Braked Towing Capacity.

Towing capacity on your vehicle will usually be specified as braked towing capacity. This is the maximum your vehicle can tow if your trailer has its own brakes. Unbraked towing capacity is the maximum your vehicle can tow if your trailer has no brakes.

This is an interesting subject and Jeff talks through some points you need to consider. If you purchase for example a Ranger with a 3.5 tonne towing capacity, but your GVM capacity is 3.2 tonne, but if your towing a 3.5 tonne caravan you have exceeded your GCM. Always check this information before you purchase your van.
